Mr. Harris and the rest of our staff understand that there are many factors that affect your decision to enlist the help of a lawyer to deal with the family law matters that you may be facing. Cost is often a significant consideration for many people who are involved in these types of cases. Our office strives to resolve as many issues as possible through negotiation because a client often is able to maintain greater control of the outcome through the negotiation process and because a client is able to contain litigation costs better through this process. We try to preserve your assets by helping you to make prudent and economical decisions.

Our firm provides legal services at the office’s regular hourly billing rate which is currently $400 per hour. When the law office is retained, a retainer agreement is signed and a retainer fee is paid. The amount of the retainer fee varies depending on the complexity of the case and the amount of time which the office anticipates will be required to complete the case. Our retainer fees are refundable on a pro rata basis if the amount of time actually consumed in representing the client is less than that which was paid for by retainer. When the case requires legal services beyond those paid by the retainer, the client is charged for additional time at the regular hourly billing rate.
